It is the best gathering place in the Upper Connecticut River Valley for local and traveling clientele.

Hallmarks of the Dowds' Country Inn include courteous, attentive and well-trained personnel; clean room accommodations with creative New England touches; an offering of made-to-order foods that fit your occasion.

The main building of the Inn was built in 1780 as a private home. It boasts spectacular original trims and doors, along with wide plank floors. Attached to the Inn is a fantastic Carriage House with an outstanding original basket-weave brick floor. True to Yankee ingenuity, the barn is attached to the Carriage House, which we renovated in 1989 into a banquet room on the first level, and guest rooms on the second level. If you wander through the Inn you will find exposed beams, wide-plank floors and many windows paned with original glass.

Our beautiful buildings rest on six-tastefully-landscaped-acres. Roam our grounds, try to identify the flowers in our casual gardens, count the fish in our new fishpond, or get up early to see the ducks in the duck pond.

In total, The Dowds' Country Inn has a home-away-from-home atmosphere; one that you will want to experience again and again. Come see us, you'll love it here!
