Every one of our 20 guest-rooms offers seasonal air-conditioning, a private bath, wireless internet access & free nationwide calling. Each room also has unique character, and we encourage our guests to explore the room descriptions below to find the room that will best suit their needs.

First Floor Rooms - Front of House

Emerson Room

The Emerson Room was once the library in the old farmhouse. It has soft blue accents that contrast with the queen size handmade star print quilt of mauve, blue and burgundy.

The design for the two-tone blue stencil border comes from the Emerson family home in Manchester, NH. 

The room is on the first floor, sleeps two, and is handicap accessible. It has a queen bed, private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Shelburne Room

The Shelburne Room was originally the living room of the old farmhouse. It was where we held the Inn's first wedding ceremony, when the former owner was married at the age of 75. The room's name comes from the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, VT.

It is decorated in country green with a fan stencil design from the museum. There are hand stitched square pattern quilts on the king and twin beds. This room has two comfortable sitting chairs and overlooks the Common. It is handicap accessible on the first floor.

The room comfortably sleeps three, has a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Manchester Room

The Manchester Room was the study of the old farmhouse. The stencil, a vine pattern with two-tone colored berries, is based on a design from an old farm that is no longer standing in Manchester, NH. 

The quilts on the two queen beds are multi-colored in shades of burgundy. Floral country prints decorate the cream-colored walls. The wingback chairs make a lovely sitting area for this room on the first floor. The room is handicap accessible. 

The room comfortably sleeps four, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat or A/C, and wireless internet.

Second Floor Rooms - Front of House

Bowden Room

The Bowden Room, named for the previous owner of the property, was once the master bedroom.

It is painted in a shade of antique white and has blue stencils. The room has an inviting feeling with braided rugs in shades of blue covering the old wooden floors. It also has an old country rocker and colorful quilt on the queen bed. This second floor room features a blue loveseat with a twin size pullout along with the three large windows overlooking the Lyme Common.

The Bowden room can sleep three, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Presidential Suite

The Presidential Suite Room was once a bedroom in the original farmhouse. The room is decorated with several paintings of former presidents and has rich wood detailing that is highlighted by the brown and beige colors in the homemade quilts.

There is a queen bed, as well as a pullout couch and a daybed with trundle. The room is located on the second floor and overlooks the town's Common.

The rooms comfortably sleeps up to six guests, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat or A/C, a Keurig for you to enjoy coffee or tea at your convenience, and wireless internet.

 

Marshland Room

The Marshland Room was named after the stencil patern used in the room. The pattern has been traced back to the old Marshland Farm in Quechee, VT. 

Tucked away on the second floor, under the third floor stairwell, this room has a warm country feel with bouquets of wildflowers stenciled around the room and a queen bed with a pale green and rose colored quilt.

The room was once a bedroom in the original farm house and has the sink placed in the room as a convenience for the previous owner and her four daughters.

The room hosts a queen bed, private bath, seasonal heat or A/C and wireless internet. It comfortably sleeps two guests.

 

Captain's Quarters

The Captain's Quarter's was so named because of the room's stenciled shell patterns and its paintings of shore scenes as well as other nautical memorabilia. 

The room has a queen bed with a beautiful brown and maroon quilt and a loveseat that pulls out to a twin bed to accommodate an additional quest. In the bathroom there is a claw foot bathtub and a separate shower. It is located on the second floor.

The room can sleep up to three guests, and has seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Wildflower Room

When the Innkeeper purchased the Inn, her first memory of this room was of looking out it's windows at wildflowers covering the property.

Wildflower is a cozy room with a queen bed, tucked away on the second floor above the kitchen and overlooking the breakfast room patio and courtyard.

It hosts a queen bed, private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet. Perfect for a single guest or an older couple.

Third Floor Rooms - Front of House

Moses Eaton Room

The Moses Eaton Room is named for Moses Eaton Jr., who is one of the best documented stencilers of New England.

The room is located on the third floor, once the ballroom used for dinner parties and dancing for groups of thirty.

This room overlooks the front patio and the entrance to the Inn. The room hosts two queen beds featuring handcrafted headboard, as well as a day-bed that pulls out to two single beds for larger families. In the bathroom there is a claw foot bathtub and a separate shower.

The room comfortably sleeps six, and has a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Church Tower Room

This room once had the best view of the town's church steeple and the bell it houses. The third floor of the Inn, where this room is located, was once a ballroom for hosting guests. 

The room overlooks the Breakfast Room Patio and the Courtyard. It features two queen beds with plush quilts composed of blues, greens and floral fabrics. The walls are decorated with Norman Rockwell prints. The rooms comfortably sleeps four guests and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet.

Second FLoor Rooms - Back of House

Maxwell Room

The Maxwell Room was named after the Maxwell Residence Hall at Dartmouth College. There is a king and a twin bed, both with handmade quilts of green and purple hues, as well as a loveseat which opens to an additional twin bed.

This cozy room with angled ceilings overlooks the front yard and the Lyme Common.

It comfortably sleeps three, and hosts a private bath seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet.

 

New Hampshire Room

The New Hampshire Room is, of course, named after our lovely state. 

This room has sloping ceilings and a wonderful view of the front patio & garden. An antique blanket chest complements the maple furniture throughout the room. The queen size bed has a plush quilt of deep burgundies and blues that contrast with the lighter blue walls and beautiful stenciled boarder.

This room comfortably sleeps two guests and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Hitchcock Room

The Hitchcock Room is a corner room with headboards, dresser and side tables in the black and white Hitchcock style. The two queen beds have hand-stitched quilts with patterns of green vines and purple flowers.

Hand stenciled floral designs border the room. If you look between the beds, you will find the original hayloft door.

Dartmouth Room

The Dartmouth Room has large windows overlooking the Patio, brick Smokehouse and the old stonewall off the Courtyard. It is painted a light green with accents of lilac in the stencils and the hand-sewn bed spreads on the two queen-sized beds.

Dark rugs bring out the richness of the mahogany furniture and add warmth to the open bright space.

The room hosts two queen beds, a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet. It comfortably sleeps four guests.

 

Pike's Suite

The Pike's Suite is named after the Innkeeper's father who helped with all of the major renovations of the Inn. You'll still see him around the Inn, tending to the gardens and the grounds.

Pike's Suite hosts a bedroom and sitting room. The sitting room has two wingback chairs with an antique mahogany table between. The separate bedroom has a grand queen four-poster bed and matching armoire of mahogany.

Pike's Suite comfortably sleeps two with a queen bed, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, a Keurig for you to enjoy coffee & tea at your own convenience, and wireless internet.

Hinman Room

The Hinman room is a quiet, cozy room on the Courtyard side of the Inn and overlooks a stone patio and one of our gardens. It was named for the Hinman residence hall at Dartmouth College. The antique headboard complements the handmade burgundy triangle quilt with interlocking plaids and floral prints.

It hosts a queen bed and a plush sitting chair, private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Wheelock Room

The Wheelock room was named after one of Dartmouth College's residence halls.

It is decorated in a garden theme with tulip stenciling and traditional country prints. There is a king bed and a twin-sized pullout in the loveseat. It is located just off the porch, where one can sit on one of the rockers to relax and enjoy the view of our gardens.

It comfortably sleeps up to three people, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Woodbury Room

The Woodbury Room overlooks the picturesque Courtyard, with its stone walls and garden, where the Inn often hosts receptions. The entrance is just off the on the covered deck, where guests like to sit and enjoy views of our Courtyard and the grounds below.

The king bed, with handmade quilts in traditional quilting colors of greens, blues and yellows, complement the natural dark mahogany headboards and furniture. There is also a loveseat, which pulls out to a twin size bed.

This room comfortably sleeps up to three guests, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Butterfield Room

The Butterfield Room overlooks the Inn's picturesque Courtyard with its stone walls and gardens. It is decorated in a traditional English country-style with crisp whites and blues and antique handcrafted wooden headboards and dressers. The two queen beds are covered with delicately hand-stitched quilts. The entrance is off the covered deck, where guests sit to enjoy the view and relax.

The room comfortably sleeps four guests, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat & A/C, and wireless internet.

 

Fairweather Suite

The Fairweather Suite is the last room on the Inn's back deck. It overlooks the property, with its vegetable and flower gardens and a picturesque duck pond. The room features a beautiful large window with stained glass panes along the top and country style rugs that add warmth on the wood floor.

It is a one-room suite with a king size bed with a hand stitched rose pattern quilt, and a queen pullout couch plus a cozy wingback chair finish off the sitting area.

This room can comfortably sleep up to four guests, and hosts a private bath, seasonal heat and A/C, a Keurig for you to enjoy coffee & tea on your convenience, and wireless internet.
