About the Inn


First Floor Shelburne Room at the Dowds' Country Inn

The Shelburne Room was originally the living room of the old farmhouse, it held the Inn's first wedding ceremony when the former owner was married at the age of 75 on the day after selling the Inn. The room's name comes from the original museum in Shelburne, VT.

It is decorated in country green with a fan stencil design from the museum. There are hand stitched square pattern quilts on the king and twin beds. This room has two comfortable sitting chairs and overlooks the Common. It is handicap accessible on the first floor.

We have thoroughly enjoyed out 4 day stay at your wonderful Inn. We look forward to many more visits as we come north and or east to spend time with our son, his wife, and our two wonderful granddaughters.
